At Extraordinary Sitting of RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs

On July 16, the extraordinary sitting of the RA NA State and Legal Affairs moderated by Vladimir Vardanyan was held. The bill designing amendments and addenda being proposed to the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure was debated in the second reading.

The RA NA deputy Vahagn Hovakimyan informed that the bill proposing to give an opportunity the absent ill deputy to vote in written form, was amended by the NA deputy’s recommendation.

In her report, the NA deputy Nazeli Baghdasaryan has noted that the amended bill will not become an occasion for wrong perceptions and has urged to vote for it.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Vahe Danielyan has proposed that the persons gets the instruction for isolation or self-isolation in written form, which in future he will submit to the employer as an invalidity paper. The Deputy Minister recommended submitting the proof of the self-isolation demand in written form with the voting in closed envelope.

As the Committee Vladimir Vardanyan has informed, the draft law fixes the voting of the deputies being in isolation conditioned by the state of emergency in written form, and the what body shall give the self-isolation instruction, is fixed by other law at the moment, when Commandant’s Office will give an instruction of self-isolation, the person is obliged to fulfill either in written form or orally. According to the Committee Chair, the formulations existing in the bill are sufficient.

The revised draft law with the recommendations as endorsed.

The Committee also debated and endorsed the legislative package on Making Addendum to the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure on Amending the Law on Corruption Prevention Committee authored by the RA NA deputy Suren Grigoryan.

According to the author, after being passed in the first reading only amendments of technical character were made to the draft law of the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, and the bill on Amending the Law on Corruption Prevention Committee was reviewed on the basis of the author’s recommendations.
